Ms. Ann Vannaprathip

Ann is a litigator with nearly two decades of experience advising both Thai and international clients in many different practice areas. She is also an experienced patent agent in Thailand. Some of her clients have included: Charoen Pokphand, Kasetsart University, General Electric International Incorporated, Creative Technology Ltd., Thai Gammon Co., Ltd., Thai Stainless Steel Co., Ltd., Kintetsu World Express Co., Ltd., and the Thai Ministry of Energy to name a few.

Ann obtained her Bachelor of Laws degree from Thammasat University and her Master of Laws (Business Law – International Program) from Chulalongkorn University. While at Chula, she had the distinction of having her individual research paper, “Correcting Inherent Flaws in the ASEAN/AFTA Dispute Settlement Mechanism: Use of the GATT/WTO Dispute Settlement Mechanism as a Model,” published in the Chulalongkorn Law Journal, Vol. 21 of 1 May 2002.

Ann is licensed to practice law in Thailand, has passed the rigorous netibundit examination and thus holds the respected Thai barrister-at-law qualification, and is an authorized notarial services attorney. She is also a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (U.K. & Thailand Association). Most notably, Ann ranked first in her class of over 170 judges, lawyers, engineers, scientists and government officials in an intellectual property law course offered by the Judicial Training Institute of the Thai Ministry of Justice, and now is an active patent agent as a result. She is a strong advocate for continuing legal education and has completed courses on bankruptcy law, e-commerce, and international trade, among others.

Ann has started her work at Tilleke & Gibbins Ltd., as a lawyer and litigator for 6 years. After gaining a lot of experiences from working in a big and the oldest law firm in Thailand, she has set up her own law firm with other partners and has run the law firm for more than 10 years. At her previous law firm, Ann was the Head of Litigation, Intellectual Property, Business and International Trade, Civil cases and taking care of all cases both in litigation and legal consultant, such as labour law, intellectual property (Patent, Trademark, Copyright, etc.), foreign investment, business and international trade, land and property, wrongful acts, will and family law. At the present, Ann is the Partner at Adlaw & Associates Co., Ltd., and with her lawyer team, Adlaw is taking care of all kinds of cases for both Thai and foreigners client.

Ann’s commitment to the rule of law in Thailand is reflected in her numerous volunteer activities with the Lawyers Council of Thailand, including as a Member of the Foreign Affairs Committee, Former Secretary of the President of Lawyers Council of Thailand, as well as Columnist of the Monthly Magazine of the Lawyers Council of Thailand, Columnist and Editor of Law News (only Thai-English Law Newspaper in Thailand), a Columnist of Law Website www.inewlaw.com, a Sub-Committee to examine the National Assets appointed by a Senator and an Advisor for a Working Committee on the Capital Market of the Senator. For media work, she used to be a guest on TV shows “Women knows around” to answer legal questions. She is now an on-going special guests to advice law for TV shows “SME Smart Service” which shows on True Vision Channel 49 and Voice TV Channel 21 on every 3^rd and 4^th Tuesdays of the month.
